The Cade Foundation’s Maryland Race for the Family, hosted by Shady Grove Fertility, is our 5k run/walk that celebrates the strength and courage it takes to OVERCOME infertility. All proceeds from the event fund Family Building Grants that help others afford the costs associated with fertility treatment or adoption.

Run with the animals (or walk..no judgement) along a beautiful 5k course that will take you throughout the Baltimore Zoo and around the scenic lake at Druid Hill Park. This year’s race will feature a 5k run, 5k walk, 1.5 mile Family Fun Run, and Savannah’s Playground. Each adult race registration will receive complimentary access to the zoo, an official 2019 MD Race for the Family tech t-shirt, a virtual race “swag bag”, and 1 entry into the free IVF cycle drawing provided by Shady Grove Fertility (conducted 6/10/19 at noon via LIVESTREAM.) We will also hold one live drawing following the race for a second raffle prize- one stimulation cycle of medications provided by EMD Serono. Additional zoo passes can be purchased by anyone who registers for the 5k or 1.5-mile event and wants to bring family, friends, or supporters. Join us as we celebrate and spread the message that infertility can be OVERCOME!

Fundraise for even more chances to win this year’s free cycle drawing (up to a $10,000 value.)  For every $45 raised through our 2019 Maryland Race for the Family MightyCause Team Page you will receive 1 additional raffle entry. This is a great way to get your family and friends involved. Go to www.m

Saturday morning runs 3-8 miles
Our club meets every Saturday morning.  9 AM winter (Nov-Mar), 8:30 AM summer (Apr-Oct).  We share a post race breakfast picnic in the park post run.  When it is cold, we have a fire in the park shelter to keep us warm over breakfast.

We have a USATF Racing team that competes against other clubs which is optional for members.  We have periodic parties (New Year’s Morning, Superbowl, St Patty’s, summer pool party, Christmas Eve event in Jockey Hollow National Park).

The Rose City Runners Club was established in 1979 and are celebrating our 40th year!

10th Annual Ready, Set, GO(LD) 5K Walk, 8K Run, and Kids’ Fun Run

To benefit The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley

Welcome to the 10th Annual Walk / Run to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Ironton Rail Trail in Coplay.  For the last 9 years, this event has been a Lehigh Valley favorite of runners and walkers alike. Last year’s event raised over $70,000 to support our mission. Our goal this year is $80,000!

This is a fun and exciting event that brings the community together to help local families that are battling childhood cancer. It’s a remarkable day filled with love and friendship, and we are delighted that you are looking forward to participating…either for the first time or once again.

This year’s event will take place on April 13th, 2019 at the Ironton Rail Trail in Coplay and features an 8K run, a 5K walk, a raffle with fabulous prizes, music, food, entertainment, and a kids’ fun run and obstacle course for kids 12 and under.

Embrace the pediatric cancer journey with PCFLV and our families!

Race start and finish is located at the Schuetze Recreation Center, 1120 Baxter Street, Waukesha, Wisconsin, 53186.  This Recreation Center is in Frame Park, along the Fox River.

The Marathon course covers approximately 6 miles of city streets and sidewalks, 15 miles of paved trails (including the Fox River Trail & Glacial Drumlin Trail) and 5 miles of the Ice Age Trail.  Miles 11 – 15 are extremely rugged. Except for the Ice Age Trail, the trail is subject to only gentle grades. Marathon turn-around is the top of the 40′ Lapham Peak Tower, the highest point in Waukesha County, with spectacular views of the surrounding lake country.

The Half-Marathon course covers approximately 6 miles of city streets and sidewalks and 8 miles of paved trails (including the Fox River Trail & Glacial Drumlin Trail). The trail is subject to only gentle grades. Runners will experience the scenic views of the historic City of Waukesha, the Fox River and the Kettle Moraine scenery of southeast Wisconsin countryside. The trail crosses city streets and country roads.

The 10K trail is subject to only gentle grades. Runners will experience the scenic views of the historic City of Waukesha and the Fox River Parkway System. The trail crosses city streets and country roads.

The 5K course is run entirely in beautiful Frame Park. The route utilizes the paved pathways immediately adjacent to the Fox River. This makes it ideal for runners, walkers and strollers. It is a family-friendly event where all ages can participate. The start is a “group” start with the finish individually timed.

Details

The Trailbreaker is Waukesha’s home grown running event and has been held annually since 1993. This Waukesha tradition initially consisted of a Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 5K Run/Walk. All three of these events are certified by the USATF and may provide qualifying credentials for other races. We are excited to once again offer a 10K event at the Trailbreaker. The Trailbreaker originally was the brainchild of three running colleagues (amigos). Since 2009, the Park Foundation of Waukesha, Inc. (PFW Inc.), has organized and hosted this annual event as a fundraiser for the enhancement of city parks, trails, recreation programs and the urban forest.
