The Haverford Township Free Library is hosting its second annual Dewey Decimal Dash 5K & Fun Run. The event will help raise funds for the Library’s upcoming renovations. The course will start at the Library, run down Mill Rd to Karakung, then to Manoa Rd and back to the Library. Awards will be given to the top 3 overall M/F plus top participants in each age group. Amenities: beautiful course down Karakung Drive, T-shirt, coffee and hot chocolate before race, refreshments and water. Cost: 5k – $25 until 11/1, $30 from 11/1 through 11/9, $35 race day; Fun Run – $10 until 11/1, $15 from 11/1 through 11/9, $20 race day.

Lyndon Ellefson, a Barron native, died July 10, 1998 after falling into a deep crevasse in the Italian Alps. Lyndon, 39, was the son of Nyles and Ruth Ellefson and a 1977 graduate of Barron High School. Lyndon lived in Vail, CO with his wife Tashina and their two sons Sylvan and Kjell. He was scheduled to compete in the Skyrunning World Championship in Cervania, Italy on July 12, 1998. He was making a training run at the time of the accident.

The Mount Dora Half Marathon was established in 2011 and since then has evolved into a leading half marathon in Florida.

The race is considered Florida’s most beautiful, with a course that includes country lanes, moss covered tree lined streets, some hills, natural wildlife.

The race begins/ends in one of the Southeast’s most prestigious, successful historic downtown areas.

Every year, Lawndale Christian Health Center and Lawndale Christian Fitness Center host the Lawndale 5k run/walk to promote wellness in the community and to bring people together for a day of fun! Join us for the 12th annual race on Saturday, September 28, 2019 as we move through the streets of Lawndale and celebrate being healthy, being together, and continuing to make a difference in our neighborhood and its surroundings.

The Lawndale 5K brings the community together to run, walk, and play together, and it invites people near and far to join in. The proceeds of the race are used to improve the LCFC experience by allowing us to keep our fitness classes free for members, sponsoring need-based memberships, lowering registration costs for all of our sports leagues, and keeping our facilities in top condition. Together we build a stronger community one step, jog, and sprint at a time.

Welcome to the 12th annual Heroes for Nick Family Walk! This event will raise funds for pediatric cancer patients and their families. We are working towards our dream project of building individual housing units in Philadelphia, near CHOP. NixCancer Foundation has partnered with Bryn Mawr Racing Company to bring you an event that will honor the life of Nicholas Mincarelli while supporting families fighting cancer.
