The Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County is hosting its 9th annual Outrunning Senior Hunger 5K & Fun Mile at Montgomery County Community College. Montco SAAC, the Montgomery County based senior centers that provide social services, educational programming, exercise classes, art classes, and nutrition programming, additionally provides Meals on Wheels to roughly 350 home bound seniors Monday through Friday, making it the largest Meals on Wheels program in Montgomery County. The annual 5K fundraiser helps supplement Montco SAAC’s funding and ensures continued support for older adults within our community. The 5K begins at 9 and the Fun Mile at 9:10. The Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Valley Forge Chapter 349 is a nonprofit organization with the sole purpose of assisting those who served our country. First and foremost we help military veterans whether physically, mentally, or emotionally to navigate the red tape of the Veterans Administration. The motto of the Vietnam Veterans is “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another”. The event will take place at the Norristown Farm Park, a relatively new area of the Montgomery County Recreation & Parks System. The Norristown Farm Park affords our Run/Walk a very safe, scenic and challenging site. Cost: $20 pre-registered, $25 race day.

A trail run on the Longleaf Horse Trail in the De Soto National Forest just south of Laurel. 50 Miles, 50 Km, or 20 Km. Gently rolling pine forest, mostly single track with some double track logging roads. Packet pickup, Prerace meal, announcements, and door prizes at race headquarters Friday night. Post race meal on-site at the start/finish line. Awards to top 3. T-shirt, finisher mementos. Belt buckle to 50M finishers. 26th annual.

Join us for this fun and local 5k race or 1 mile fun run/walk through the beautiful neighborhood of Langhorne Borough. Help raise funds for the benefit of Operation Comfort Warriors, Delaware Valley Stand Down, as well as other Veterans Charities. Awards: Top overall male/female race finishers and overall age group winners. Amenities: Each registrant receives a commemorative T-shirt and refreshments.
