Come out and run or walk to support the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association 4th of July celebration! Our parade has been a community tradition for over 100 years. We need your help to keep our cherished parade and beautiful fireworks display a part of the Greater Glenside area for generations to come. All proceeds from your participation in “Keep the Parade Running” will ensure the continuation of this time honored Glenside 4th of July event. See you there! Both the run and walk will start and finish at the North Penn VFW Post 676 of Glenside. The run will take two loops through the scenic streets of Glenside. A few rolling hills throughout the course will provide just enough of a challenge to satisfy any level of runner.

We will once again be offering team registrations. Teams may consist of any combination of runners/walkers, but must contain at least 5 members. This year, we will be holding a competition for the largest team, with a special prize being offered to all members of the largest team.

Medals for the top 3 overall male & female runners. Age group award medals (top male & female) will also be presented. Those who register by March 31st receive a “Keep the Parade Running” long sleeve t-shirt. There will be refreshments for finishers, indoor toilet facilities, ample parking, time clock at finish, instant results (provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Co.) and awards presented following the run. Awards will not be mailed. Additionally, the VFW bar and restaurant will be open for you and your family to celebrate your successful run. This event will be held rain or shine. No refunds.

Cost: $25 through 3/31, $30 after.

What better way to “spring” into cherry blossom season than with a run (or walk) beneath the trees? Take in great views of Memorial Hall and Shofuso as you run through Fairmount Park’s historic Centennial District on 10K and 5K courses.

All participants receive a free admission to Shofuso.

Registration opens 6:30 AM, race starts at 7:30 AM. An optional pre-race packet pickup will be available to all runners. Date/time/location TBA. Family and friends are also welcome to pick up packets for registered runners. This pre-race packet pickup location and date are optional, you will also be able to pick up packets on race day beginning at 6:30 AM. We encourage all attendees to park to the West of Belmont Ave on either Parkside Avenue, Avenue of the Republic, or Concourse Drive in order to avoid other events that may be taking place that day at Memorial Hall and within the park. We hope that you will consider participating in our 7th Annual Nicole Gallo 5k Run & Walk. This event is in honor of Nicole Gallo ’08 with all proceeds going towards the Nicole Gallo Sunshine & Bubbles Scholarship for Bonner & Prendie Students.

The weekend includes, mass, a 5k through Drexel Hill, kids fun run, music and food to follow. The event also pays tribute to local local first responders and the opportunity to tour emergency vehicles such as the UDPD SWAT Truck and the 911 Mobile Command Center.
