Welcome to the Assumption Academy 5K and Family Fun Stroll! This event raises funds for the Assumption Academy Preschool and Kindergarten, and more specifically to help the school raise funds for updated electronics the for classrooms.

This is the fourth annual Beat Brain Cancer 5k in memory of Desiree Stockholm, who lost her battle with brain cancer in 2014. Lets bring awareness to this horrible disease. This is a fast, flat course in the Village of East Rochester NY. Cash prizes to top three in overall, medals to top three in each age group. Proceeds will be donated to a local family fighting brain cancer.

Get Your Chametz to Alverthorpe Park and join us for a run (or walk) as we prepare to celebrate our freedom. Join us also in helping to combat hunger in our communities by bringing a nonperishable food item or donation for the
Inter-Faith Food Cupboard in Abington.

LOCATION: Alverthorpe Park. Jenkintown Road & Forrest Avenue, Jenkintown, PA. Parking will be available in
the park’s lot on Fox Chase Road. Alternate parking can be found at the park’s main entrance on Forrest Avenue.
Registration, located at the picnic pavilion close to Fox Chase Road, opens at 9:00 a.m. 5k starts at 10:00 a.m.
COURSE: Mildly hilly paved path around the park.
AWARDS: Overall male and female winners plus:
Top 3 male & Top 3 female awards for each age category: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
Runners, joggers, walkers, saunterers, ramblers, strollers, are all welcome to participate, but please leave your
pets home. Awards will be announced at about 11:15 a.m. Overall winners are not eligible for age group award.

About this Event
This year the Road Runners are proud to be working with the Beers family and many community partners to put on another record breaking race in an effort to raise funds for a much needed surgery that will improve the quality of young Aiden’s life. . . . .

This 12th surgery is not covered by insurance but is the the best option for treating his significant scoliosis. The hope is to prevent his curve from worsening while preserving what mobility and balance he has.

The 20th Annual Run for Zimbabwe Orphans and Fair is an event for the entire family! While the cross-country meet is going on, there is the fair highlighting the music and culture of Zimbabwe with lots of mascots such as a lion, cheetah, giraffe etc.
