Come out and join us for the second annual Black Bear Sprint Triathlon to benefit the Friends of the Smokies and celebrate triathlon with Fleet Feet Knoxville! This pool sprint triathlon is a USAT Sanctioned event showcasing the Springbrook Pool and the beautiful back roads of Alcoa.

Swim 200 Yds – 4 laps in the Springbrook pool with a time trial self-seeded start with a 5 second space between athletes.
Bike 9 miles – A fairly flat, beautiful course to gain speed and confidence on your bike ride!
Run 3 miles – A shaded, flat-ish, run through the Springbrook greenways to finish in the Springbrook Parking lot.

Come join us for fun, a good training or competing opportunity, and fellowship with fellow triathletes and beginners alike!

The Care4 Breast Cancer 5K run/walk started in 2001, and in its first year hosted less than 300 people and raised about $5000. It now takes place in October at Woodstock North High School and attracts almost 2000 people, both participants and volunteers, and raises almost $130,000 annually! All net proceeds go toward the FHPC Breast Cancer Fund, which improves access to screening, mammograms, and treatment resources for the uninsured women and men of McHenry County, as well as increases public awareness of breast cancer issues specific to our county.

Join us at Great Valley High School on Sunday, October 13 at 9am for the 6th annual Steps4Hope 5k run/1mile walk. This timed race, held in loving memory of Jonathan Moules, is dedicated to promoting awareness and prevention of Substance Use Disorders. Proceeds from the race will help us continue to assist essential local programs, awareness and educational events, grief support and provide much needed resources for those in early recovery. WaikoloaOn November 9, 2019, Friends of the Library-Waikoloa Region (FL-WR) will hold its 10th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Literacy to promote library causes and to support our various literacy projects. In addition, this year we will have our fifth silent auction at Waikoloa School Cafeteria the same morning as the Walk/Run for Literacy, featuring a beautiful handmade quilt made for and donated to us by the Waikoloa Sew N Sews. We will also have our fourth annual free Health Fair.
