The National Undy RunWalk is not just an opportunity to run or walk in your underwear. It is a family-friendly undy-themed RunWalk created by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, with the goal to provide support for patients and families, caregivers, and survivors; to raise awareness of preventive measures, and inspire efforts to fund critical research. All fitness levels attend and dogs are welcomed!

Dia de los Muertos 5K & Cultural Arts Festival

The Recreation and Community Services Department is excited to announce that the Providence Holy Cross Healthy San Fernando 5K Relay Walk or Run will be combined with the Dia de los Muertos event as part of the six-month Healthy San Fernando! Campaign. The goal is to improve the health of the community. This fun and healthy event includes:

• 5K Run/Walk Relay
• 5K Individual Run
• Kids Run
• Health Fair/Expo
• Art Exhibit**
• Altars***
• Face Painting and Children’s Workshops
• Entertainment

***Build an altar in remembrance of a loved one. Enjohy a movie in the park and story telling us as you set up your altar. Spaces are free and on a first come, first serve basis. No reservation required, must check in upon arrival. No open flames or stakes to the ground.

5K RELAY WALK OR RUN  
This option consists of a team of three people that can walk and/or run the course. Each team member will complete one loop. Time chips will be used to provide individual loop times and final team time. Top three teams from each category awarded prizes. All levels are encouraged to participate. All teams are three participants.

To sign up, a team captain must create the team profile and complete all team member information, including name, address, contact (email), date of birth, etc. to complete the registration process. All levels are encouraged to participate!

RELAY TEAM CATEGORIES INCLUDE:
OPEN: Individuals of all ages/levels
FAMILY: Minimum of one child and one adult
SCHOOL/YOUTH NON-PROFIT: Individuals representing a school/non-profit

5K INDIVIDUAL RUN  
This option consists of individuals running a 5K course consisting of three loops (no walkers will be permitted; runners must be able to complete one mile in less than 12 minutes). Time chips will be used to provide individual loop times and final time. Top runners will be awarded prizes.

KIDS RUN  
This option consists of children ages 3 to 10 years old participating in a short dash. All runners will receive a surprise at the end of the race.

Enjoy a great day of family fun, children’s activities, plus a 5K!  The Little Monster Dash along with entertainment, games, face painting, balloon arts, a magician, arts/crafts, along with the Franklin County Animal Shelter providing a pet adoption event, will give your little “monsters” a ghoulish day!

The 5K supports Employment For Seniors, a Central Ohio nonprofit which assists mature job seekers in their employment search.  For more information on Employment For Seniors, go to www.employseniors.org    5K registration is at the link noted above.

This race is a 5k on the campus of St. John Fisher College. This event raises money for Camp Good Days, a nonprofit organization that allows kids with cancer, or kids affected by cancer to go to summer camp for free. It gives children the opportunity to get away from the hospitals or the pain of losing someone and be around kids like them or kids that have been through what they’ve been through.

The 5k is at 8 am on Saturday, September 21st, 2019 starting at the Welcome Center of St. John Fisher. The race is $18 and it really goes a long way for these children! Just leave an email we can best reach you at and details will come your way! 🙂

Lace up your shoes for the spookiest run in town! Join us at West Laurel Hill Cemetery to RUN4URLIFE 5K. This event is great for the whole family– walk, run, cheer! We will start the morning with a Trick or Treat Kids Dash followed by a timed 5K through the grounds of West Laurel Hill Cemetery. Participants are encouraged to come in their favorite costumes! Prizes will be awarded for best costume as well as top male and female runners in the 5K. Join us after the 5K for a post-race celebration as we enjoy snacks and giveaways, recognize all who participated, and present awards.

All proceeds benefit MANNA’s mission of providing medically appropriate meals to people battling life threatening illnesses. 5k Registration is $35 and includes a race t-shirt.

Enjoy this nature lover’s trail run/walk around the cranberry bogs held each November during cranberry country’s favorite time of year! Children, adults, runners, walkers, nature enthusiasts, environmentalists, and cranberry lovers will enjoy this beautiful route while learning some berry fun facts along the way! Proceeds benefit the Cranberry Educational Foundation.
