The 2020 edition of the PP5K has been transitioned to a VIRTUAL RUN!  PACKET/Shirt PICK UP will be held on Wednesday, November 25 from 430pm to 730pm at the Nazareth YMCA and will resume at 7:30am on Thursday.  Shirts those registered before Nov 1st at 11:59 PM. (Shirts must be picked up in person at one of our Pick Up Times).  Important Dates: NOVEMBER 1- SHIRT CUTOFF DATE! (or 750 participants); November 1 – Last Minute Registration begins; November 24 – last day to register; November 25- December 1 – Run the 5k course or your own 5k course and track your time via the app!  Registration: $30 Early Registration (Until October 31); $35 Last minute (November 1-25); Shirts/Packets must be picked up at the Nazareth Y pick up times.  NEW—Kids Pricing (10 or under on race day) $20.  Registrations fees are non-refundable. 

The Dewey Decimal Dash has gone virtual!  With the ongoing pandemic, we want to keep this event safe for everyone while we come together to support the Haverford Township Free Library.  For 2020, this extraordinary year, we are changing the name of our race to the Dewey Digital Dash!  How it works:  Register for the 5K or 1 mile as an individual or as a team. New this year is the family 1 mile team!  Run or walk between Saturday, November 7 – Sunday, November 15.  You can run the race course (down Mill Road, to Karakung Drive, to Manoa and back to the Library) or you can run in your neighborhood, park, or on a track or treadmill.  You have the option to submit your results on the Runsignup registration page OR you can download the Racejoy app that will include course directions, mile marks and virtual cheers!  Race swag bags will be available at the Library (1601 Darby Rd., Havertown, PA) between Thursday, November 6 and Sunday, November 15.  Swag this year includes a Library emblazoned gaiter for you to use in the race and for all your running needs during the pandemic.  If you are participating in the Dewey Digital Dash from farther away, you can add a $5 fee to your registration, and we will mail your swag to you!  Please take photos or videos of your race and post to Facebook or Instagram using #deweydigitaldash and #myhtfl.  Questions? Join the A SHOC community from November 2nd to 22nd and complete our virtual challenge: a 3-week fitness feat with 2 main challenges and multiple bonus challenges presented by pro athletes. The main challenge is to crush 300 minutes of activity each week and to get outside and cover 10 miles of distance. Any sport, any time; run, bike, walk, or surf, just get after it. Compete with top Olympic, X Games, and professional athletes from Billy Kemper, Big Wave Surf World Champion, to Gwen Berry, U.S. Olympic Hammer Thrower, who will guide you through some of their unique workouts. View your results on the leaderboard for motivation to push your limits. Whether you are a runner, cyclist, speed walker, weightlifter, or weekend warrior– you were made for this challenge. It’s getting colder and the snow may be coming but, this is a great way to stay active, push your limits, get outside, and get it done.

Make this great event a part of your Halloween tradition. Just choose your distance and then run it at your convenience. You can run or walk it in your neighborhood, on your treadmill, in your local park or anywhere else you free comfortable.

The 12Ks for the Holidays is a fundraiser for the Good Samaritan Center, a nonprofit social service agency serving families in emergency crisis situations for over 40 years. The race itself includes a 12K run, 5K run/walk, and a Free Kids’ One Mile Fun Run, and is traditionally held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Sadly, the post-race festivities are canceled this year, but we are planning exciting virtual activities!

This year’s theme is “Baby, it’s COVID outside!” Our 12Ks looks a little different this year, but we’re making the most of it!

Registration is now open until November 30th. Participants get to pick their distance as well as their swag. Individuals do their run alone or with friends (socially distanced, of course!). Racers can do their mileage at anytime and anyplace and are encouraged to post their time on RaceRoster, as well as to post pictures of their adventure on Good Sam’s Facebook page.

If allowed by city officials, our race timing companies will be on location (Cedars/Fondren and in Laurel) on November 21st from 7am-10am with a marked course to allow folks to run and clock their own time. This offers our participants some of the race feel but with a more careful, social distancing opportunity to run a lovely course.
