The Tunnel Hill Marathon is run in conjunction with the famous Tunnel Hill 100 mile and 50 mile runs. It was here were Camille Herron shattered the World Record by over an hour (12:42:40 for 100 miles), and  where Zach Bitter ran the fastest 100 miles (12:08:36) ever, off-road.

The course is considered a Road Course by the USATF and IAAF, yet is still considered a Trail (since it's unpaved) by ITRA, and ATRA.

The marathon begins at the 24 hour mark of the 100 miler, and runners are allotted 6 hours to complete the fast, flat course. Athletes meet, encourage, and are encouraged by runners finishing their 100 mile runs.

A Boston Qualifier, the course is a very scenic Rails-to-Trails passing through gorgeous gorges via train trestles, and traversing through the famous tunnel twice.. Starting, and Finishing in Vienna City the course is Records Eligible, USATF Sanctioned. USATF and IAAF certified Course.
