On Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 the HEADstrong Foundation will present the Inaugural Running aHEAD of Cancer, a 5K Race and 1M Walk in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.  The Running aHEAD of Cancer 5K is an annual event that assists local families and funds complimentary nights at Nick’s House, a guest family residence, operated by HEADstrong that provides complimentary lodging and support for families displaced to the region in the pursuit of lifesaving cancer treatment.  Your support will be instrumental in allowing us to strengthen our commitment to families in our community and living here while their loved ones undergo advanced care treatment in the region.  We invite you to review our complete list of sponsorship opportunities for the event.

Join us for our 5th Regional MS 5K Run/Walk & Wellness Exhibit at Warminster Community Park in beautiful Buck’s County on Saturday, September 28 (from 9am – 1pm; rain or shine).  This is a physical & fun filled day for runner/walker enthusiasts, the entire family, office, club, school, company, etc.!

Participate in the 5K Run Competition (or walk), or in the Wellness Mile Walk with your family/friend team, corporate team, or even solo.  Kids & pets are encouraged to join in, too!  After the race is the 5K awards presentation plus participate in fitness contests and interactive sports related demonstrations.  Enjoy the Wellness Exhibit with local community vendors, free food, music, giveaways, and more.  100% of the funds raised from the event are donated to Multiple Sclerosis research; our beneficiary is the Ann Romney Center for Neurological Disease at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Welcome to the inaugural Red, White and Blue Ridge 5K, hosted by Blue Ridge School in beautiful Cashiers, North Carolina.  This will be the fastest July 4th 5K in the mountains and all proceeds will assist the school with future needs.

The 5k runs through paths in both Winding Hill Park East and West as well as through neighborhood roads. Prizes given to the top 5K three male and female finishers overall and top Veteran finisher. Medals given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group.

Race park has a great playground for children and is a family friendly environment. Also a Mini Dash for children 5 years and under.

Proceeds benefit the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library children’s services and programs.

This race has something for everyone!  Choose the 15k, 5k, 1-mile walk/run or be a Virtual Participant! Help us raise awareness and financial support for patients battling Mast Cell Disease.  Super T’s Mast Cell Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization providing education and financial support to patients living with Mast Cell Disease. We are the only foundation globally, providing financial assistance in the form of grants to patients helping to offset their living and medical expenses.

Registration and Packet Pick up On Race Day: Saturday 10/5 @ 7 am at the Norristown High School, 1900 Eagle Drive, Norristown, PA 19401.

Pre-race stretch – at the Norristown High School beginning at 7:30 am.  Start Times: 15k start time: Races will start at the Whitehall Road entrance of the Norristown Farm Park.  Start time is 8:30 AM.  5K and 1-mile start time: Race will start at the Whitehall Road entrance of the Norristown Farm Park.  Start time is 9:00 AM. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome!     Please leave pets at home due to the nature of the rare disease.  Thank you for understanding.

CASH Prizes: Top Overall M/F winners for 15K and 5K.  AWARDS: Top 3 in each age category; Largest Team Entry; Fundraising Team Incentives. 

Attire: Bust out your favorite spandex superhero suit (or not). Capes are not required, but look awesome in photos!!!  Capes will be available to purchase on race day in case your cape is lost!!!!

Location:  Manayunk Tow Path – Start & Finish at Green La to Shawmont turnaround.  Free parking available for a limited number of people.  Driving in for the event?  Park at the lot at 114 Green Lane.  We will be issuing passes that are good for 4 free hours of parking on our event day!  (Passes are limited and will be distributed as long as they last!).
