10th Annual Chili Hop Run Watervliet MI

NEW DATE: Over the past few years, mid-October weather conditions turned this event into a cold, wet, mud-run with few if any planes able to land. For our 10th Annual event, we moved up the event by one month to Sunday, September 15.
NEW TIME: By moving up the date, we're moving up the start time to 9:00 am!
NEW BENEFIT PARTNER: To encourage some healthy school rivalry, we'll award a portion of the proceeds to the school with the highest number student participation!

When registering, indicate which school you attend
During the race, we'll determine the schools with the highest number of students participating.
A minimum of $300 will be donated to local school Athletic Departments: $150 to the top school, followed by $100 and $50 to the first and second runners up. The donation amount may increase with the number of race participants.
NEW ROUTES: Let's face it, some people just don't enjoy running or walking on grass, especially wet grass! So this year we're offering some options. Participants can choose from a shorter route that is mainly paved streets, or a longer one that is a mix of streets, mown grass, and trails.
NEW DISTANCES: Along with a change in routes, we are offering two distance and timing options.
Getting tired of the same old 5K distance? Try something new with our Timed 4 Miler Run/Walk
This event distance starts out with two miles on streets. But once you return to the airport, you'll head out to cover some of the original Chili Hop 5K trails surrounding the airport.
Participants receive a themed race bib, an event shirt, official finish time, and are eligible for Overall & Age Group Awards
Not concerned about timing or awards? The low cost, untimed 4K Fun Run/Walk is for you.
It starts and finishes on the gravel path facing the runways at the Watervliet Municipal Airport clubhouse, but the rest of the route is on paved streets.
How far is a 4K? It's about 2.5 miles. But since it's not timed, you don't have to finish the whole route if it's too far for you.
You'll receive an event t-shirt and a generic race bib with this low-cost option, but won't be eligible for awards or prizes.
Strollers are permitted. Pre-registered participants will receive an event t-shirt while supplies last. Proceeds benefit EAA Chapter 585, with a portion benefitting local school Athletic Departments.
