Don’t Stall, Just Call is an alcohol poisoning education program for college & high school students and their families. We believe education is the best way to prevent senseless alcohol related deaths. Awareness and education result in prevention. Please join us and support this great mission by participating in our annual 5K run and 1 Mile Walk!

The course begins on the Tahqua Trail 4.3 miles west of Whitefish Bay in eastern Lake Superior. Runners follow a dirt forest road along the Tahquamenon River for one half mile until they reach the North Country Trail (NCT). The single track NCT winds through spruce swale, pine ridges, lush bogs, Jack Pine savannah, and past the Camp 10 and Water Tank lakes, where the occasional moose can be spotted. Runners reach Lower Tahquamenon Falls nine and a half miles into the race. The NCT then transitions into the heavily forested Lower Falls trails. One mile later the course merges with the River Trail which travels along the Tahquamenon River. The River Trail features old growth hemlock and yellow birch. Runners hear the roar of the Upper Falls encouraging a strong finish near the top of the second largest waterfall east of the Mississippi.
A gorgeous point to point single track course through the Tahquamenon Wilderness features rolling terrain through birch and pine forest and forest floor blanketed with wild blueberries and reindeer moss. Four mile of the course follow the shoreline of the Tahquamenon River including intimate sections along its Lower Falls.
5K
Newly constructed single track on Treetops Resort grounds incorporating sections of the alpine ski area and forests near the Masterpiece Golf Course. The course is beautiful and challenging.
5K Start: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020, Treetops Resort, Main Campus.
Hill Climb
An undulating 1K climb starting at the eastern base of the alpine ski area and winding up a combination of 6 ski runs to finish at the summit, just west of the Legends on the Hill Restaurant. There is a modest 300 ft in elevation gain making this hill climb an accessible event for the new hill climber. The course, especially the finish area is spectator friendly.
Hill Climb Start: 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020, Eastern base of the Alpine Ski Hill.
Half Marathon
A gorgeous and eclectic course that begins near the North Clubhouse. It follows a combination of fairway forests, dirt service roads before entering the Headwaters Conservancy single track at three miles. The Headwaters single track takes runners on an intimate path near the Sturgeon River. Runners leave the Headwaters Conservancy and crossing Whitmarsh Road into the spectacular landscape of Project Nature. Runner revisit the Sturgeon River, this time on grassy single track. The course also includes challenging climbs up to high ridges overlooking the river valley as well as some fast sections along dirt forest road. After a six mile tour of the Project Nature lands runners return via alternative single track through the Headwaters Conservancy and back to the finish via fairway forests.
Half Marathon Start: 9:00 a.m. Sunday, November 1, 2020 Treetops North Clubhouse/Campus.
Join us for a weekend of remarkable trail running at Gaylord’s Treetops Resort. The Treetops Trifecta is a micro-stage race with 5K, Hill Climb and Half Marathon events over two days at one of Michigan’s top resorts. The weekend begins on Saturday morning with a 5K on newly crafted single track at the resorts main campus. This is followed by a 1K Hill Climb on the resort’s alpine ski area on Saturday afternoon. The event concludes on Sunday with a half marathon staged at the resorts North Campus with a scenic course that includes single track through the Headwaters Conservancy land and Treetops Project Nature, a landscape that offers stunning views of the Sturgeon River Valley.
