Sky Community Partners (Sky), Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, and the Thomas Jefferson University are hosting the 5th Annual Point Breeze 5K & Health Fair. Sky provides programs to underserved, low-income families and individuals by collaborating with high-performing organizations to increase educational opportunities and increase health awareness and access to at-risk communities in Philadelphia. The Point Breeze 5K will raise funds to promote and support local pancreatic cancer awareness and early detection and to encourage healthy lifestyles, specifically in underserved communities. A portion of all proceeds will benefit Thomas Jefferson Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. The Utah Valley Marathon is a fast paced scenic course that begins in Wallsburg, Utah, running into Provo Canyon and features much of the diverse scenery offered in Utah County. Marathon runners will run along canyon roads that follow the Provo River.

The race course has spectacular views of Bridal Veil Falls, the mountains, and the city. This Utah Marathon finishes in historic downtown Provo at the Utah County Courthouse park.

Run a portion of America’s longest Main Street during this marathon only race held on a Saturday in historic Belleville, IL, near downtown St. Louis. The Belleville Main Street Marathon course also includes paved trails and is a Boston Marathon qualifier with enthusiastic crowd support, at a very reasonable cost.

The Rochester Regional Health Flower City Challenge is a participatory and spectator friendly event that showcases the culture, history, neighborhoods and river ways of Rochester, NY. Participants can choose to run or walk a 5K (3 mile), a Half Marathon (13.1 mile), a Half Marathon Relay (2-person team) or the Kids Half Marathon (for kids 12 & under).

The “Fallen Heroes 5K Run/Walk” proceeds benefit the Elizabeth A. Loncki Scholarship Fund, which helps families send their children to St. Peter School.

The fund is named in memory of Senior Airman Elizabeth A. Loncki, a graduate of St. Peter School. Elizabeth is a hometown hero from New Castle, DE and a true American hero who became the first woman from Delaware to die in combat in Iraq when the 23-year-old was killed by a car bomber on January 7, 2007, just 10 days before she was due to come home. The race helps keep Elizabeth’s memory alive and assists others who want to attend the same elementary school that helped educate this heroic woman.
